DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: RELIGIOSO

Meet the design tandem behind the brand and see their weave-inspired summer collection.

Choc Religioso-Dayrit and Yvette Religioso-Ilagan, the design duo behind ready-to-wear brand Religioso, were inspired by the weave of the local abanico for their summer collection. Considering how scorching these days have been, it's no surprise the tandem would find inspiration in something that alleviates the summer heat. The woven pattern of the natural fiber fan finds its way into intricate details of the smart and classic styles of the Religioso ensembles, done in cotton, silk jersey, duchess satin, and silk.

"The pieces showcase interesting details and excellent workmanship, all with Religioso’s signature flair," says Choc and Yvette. "The designs go from smart to sleek, to seductive and sophisticated. The cut of our clothes has always been generally classic, but we've experimented and thought of new cuts and designs to offer as an alternative to our clients. We also still continue to work on details, details, details because that is what we are known for!" enthuses the two.
