PHILIPPINE FASHION WEEK HOLIDAY 2010: READY TO WEAR
As a division, the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2010's 6-designer Ready to Wear lineup is not as cohesive as one would expect. While it's necessary that each designer distinguish himself/herself from the legion of creative minds he/she is grouped with, it's also necessary for a Fashion Week lineup to have an underlying concept that connects one collection to the next.
Unfortunately, even a generic connective theme such as ready-to-wear wasn't fully fleshed out by the Ready to Wear designers. Aside from a couple of nicely enough tailored pieces from Reian Mata and Ziggy Savella, and Simon Ariel Vasquez's neutral men's loungewear, Ready to Wear left a whole lot to be desired.
We won't even deign mention the gratuitous appearance of tiny hot pink trunks in one of the collections. We leave you to sift through the galleries below to discover that precious nugget for yourselves.
