In the recent years, the local fashion, art, and design spheres have become more dynamic and in many ways, have placed the Philippine map—big, bold and bright—on the globe. With the sprout of invaluable rising talents, we have several non-profit organizations to thank, as well, for creating opportunities for these young individuals, retailers and designers. One of them is husband-and-wife tandem, Banjo Albano and Sarah Meier-Albano.

The two have created Platform, an organization that aims to inspire the young emerging talents, and support them by showcasing their goods in an interactive convention heralded as Manila’s first youth culture convention, “Unite & Conquer.”

“We've decided to put together a convention of sorts—an energy hub and selling bazaar, as well as a networking opportunity for the new breed of Filipino designers and retailers in the realms of fashion and art/design. This is in spirit of trade shows in the US that are essentially the ‘Fashion Week’ of the younger set,” Sarah explains.

Platform’s “Unite & Conquer” is happening on March 18, 2012 at the Ronac Art Center. Be sure to drop by!
