BLOGGER CHALLENGE: BRODERIE, LACE AND CROCHET

What made you want to try this trend?
I was inspired by the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2012 collection that featured eyelet embroidery in pastel colors. I also like the look of lace skirts with bright colored lining have been popping up in the retail stores, so I decided to take the cue from there.
How do you build your outfit around it?
I wanted to keep the look clean so I stuck to a white palette.
How do you make the look your own?
I added a pop of color with a neon camisole underneath the blouse.

How do you balance your outfit to avoid making it look over-the-top?
I kept the blouse as the focal point by keeping the rest of the outfit neutral and with clean lines.
Can you give tips on how to wear this trend?
Add some masculine pieces so that the look isn't too girly. Darker, heavier pieces like leather or a pair of combat boots will make the look more street.
How would you wear it during the day, night, to a party, to work?
I'd wear a lace dress with boots at night or to a party. For work, I'd like to get my hands on a lace skirt with a bright colored lining.
