What made you want to try this trend?
The nautical look is a timeless one. The basic colors and lines are always so eye-catching despite the simplicity.

How do you build your outfit around it?
I started with the striped dress and added "nautical" color accents to give it more of the nautical vibe.

How do you make the look your own?
I'm a big fan of socks and heels, so I added this to the look. Also, I really like belts that cinch the waist. I added my vintage Chanel belt to add more character to the look since the gold buckle complements it. Lastly, instead of the usual striped top or skirt I opted for a dress in a really interesting cut.

How do you balance your outfit to avoid making it look over-the-top?
Since the stripes and the cut of the dress are already very attention drawing, I tried to make the red accents subtle but seen.

How do you accessorize nautical stripes?
A nice gold belt, and simple accessories like a pendant and bracelets.

How would you wear it during the day, night, to the beach, to a party, to work?
The nautical look is really versatile. For daytime looks, you can stick to full, lighter-based striped dresses, tops, or skirts [and pair it] with wedges or sandals. For night, you can opt for deeper hues of red and blue with heels or boots.
